WELCOME TO CATSEYE RESPONSE & MEDICAL

Motorsport Stage Safety Unit are licensed by Motorsport UK (MSUK) the governing body for motorsport in the UK. MSUK specifies the minimum levels of rescue and medical equipment that a licensed Rescue Units must carry. MSUK carry out regular inspections of Motorsport Rescue units to ensure that standards are maintained.

Registered by Motorsport UK as Catseye Response and is a Stage Safety Unit and is also known as an SSU) to transport licensed crew and specialist equipment to an incident. The role of the SSU ( Motorsport Stage Safety Unit ) is to make the scene safe and to render First Aid until the Rescue Unit arrives.

Catseye Response is used on motorsport special stagaes in the UK, Our Crew leader started out Marshalling on events, moving on to radio marshal. Over the last four years he has been getting involved as the Media Officer for the Plains Rally and worked on stage set up for this event. He works as stage team for the International World Class event WRGB, more significantly Incident Officer for the stage on the day of the event. He now holds a Full Rescue Licence and Motorsport UK Safety Car Licence and is a fully qualified Emergency Medical Technician

ABOUT US

OUR TEAM

We operate BMW X1 for our Stage Safety Unit. This gives us an estate vehicle with plenty of room to carry all the equipment and the crew easily. Being an X1 we have the ability to use All Wheel Drive which is useful when operating in a forest environment or loose surface event.

The vehicle carries a full warning light package to enable us when having to travel the scene of an incident quickly. We also carry a PA system for when operating Safety Car duties. The lighting package also enables us to be seen when protecting an incident scene.

The equipment carried is listed in the current Motorsport UK Year Book or as its known the Blue Book. This lists out the minimum amount of equipment that must be carried when operating as a Stage Safety Unit. This list is a minimum list and we where necessary we will carry more equipment of more of an item as deemed needed for the event that we are covering, as our team are FREC 4 Qualified we carry extra equipment within that scope of practice so your in safe hands.
